Enriching IT Glue Configurations with Network Glue data
This article explains how the additional data collected by the Network Glue Collector is displayed for existing IT Glue configurations. Additional data enriches the IT Glue configurations and allows you to easily search for device data.
Field display logic
The below table describes the data you will see in the IT Glue Configuration Show Page. This table is applicable to all four of the following scenarios:
- Scenario 1: No PSA, no RMM, and Network Glue
- Scenario 2: No PSA, RMM, and Network Glue
- Scenario 3: PSA, no RMM, and Network Glue
- Scenario 4: PSA, RMM, and Network Glue
NOTE Several of the data fields below are intrinsically related to Active Directory which is enabled during the initial setup of the Network Glue Collector. For more details on this, please refer to our Setting up Network Glue for an IT Glue organization KB article.

Domain Role
The Network Glue Collector identifies physical devices and, if Active Directory is enabled, the Domain Role identifies a device’s role within the hybrid or on-premise Active Directory infrastructures. This enables another facet of information allowing you to troubleshoot efficiently. Devices will be identified as one of the following:
- Primary Domain Controller (PDC) - Usually the server.
- Backup Domain Controller (BDC) - In the case that the PDC fails, this will serve its function.
- Member Workstation - A workstation that is part of the AD infrastructure.
- Member Server - A server that is part of the AD infrastructure.
- Standalone Workstation / Standalone Server / Unknown - A device that is not a member of the AD domain and thus cannot participate in AD-based networking. You can filter for these types of devices in the network diagram and address them as required during your troubleshooting process.
This information appears in the side pane of your network diagram and on the IT Glue Configuration show page. You can also use the filter bar in the network diagram to quickly filter the devices by its domain role.
Device Manufacturers & Device Types
Click here to view a list of all device manufacturers that will be represented as device types and icons on your network diagram. Note that for manufacturers not in this list, the manufacturer information will display but not the device type information.

Comparing Data
The Compare Data page allows you to view all existing data from your integrated PSA and/or RMM as well as the additional data collected by Network Glue in a single view.
- Navigate to Organizations > Configurations.
- On the Configuration show page, you will see a timestamp showing the last time of update from your PSA, RMM, and Network Glue. Click on the Compare data hyperlink below these timestamps.
- The new Compare Data page provides the following data:
- Device icon, name, and type
- IT Glue section - Displays all data coming from IT Glue or PSA.
- Network Glue section - Displays all data coming from Network Glue.
- [RMM Name] section - Displays all data coming from RMM if the configuration is RMM-synced.
- [PSA Name] section - Displays all data coming from PSA if the configuration is PSA-synced.
- Click on the Back to [Configuration Name] button at the bottom of the page to return to the original Configuration show page.
